Jackie Jenkins
When the first woman, Eve sinned by eating the fruit from the forbidden tree, God said to her, “What is this you have done? (Gen. 3:13)”
What followed Eve’s excuse was a resounding rebuke from God. It looked as if Eve had ruined the future for all women.
Today, many women sense the need to overachieve because we feel unseen, unvalidated, and unheard. The woman in Bethany faced this exact dilemma as she attempted to worship Jesus in her own special way. Never would she have thought that her unique devotion would bring such persecution and assault against her character.
This Bible study of Matthew chapter 26 uncovers the harsh reality both Jesus and the woman in Bethany faced. But this time, the Lord did not rebuke the woman. He came to her defense.
A Good Work will guide you through this profound Bible study with scriptures supporting the purpose of the woman in Bethany and revealing why her act of worship could have only been done by a woman—a woman whose efforts Jesus would not allow to go without a reward.
The self-help study aims to assist you in your growth and offer clarity about your purpose as a woman. Designed to provoke deep reflection, it offers support as you adjust and progress in your walk with the Lord. If anyone is going to question, validate, or find purpose in your relationship with the Lord, let it begin with you.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Jackie Jenkins shows the importance of each woman in scripture, beginning with Eve and focusing on the woman who anointed Jesus in Bethany. By using women as examples, the author outlines the usefulness of women in scripture and today. Through Jenkins's book, I could see my importance to God and His ministry. Even though I make mistakes, I am valuable to God, and He can use me to spread the knowledge of His good works. Some of the questions in the discussions are sure to bring on revelations, and they will help readers reflect on the importance of the subjects in the book. Jesus embraced all people, and we are all capable of doing wonderful works in the name of God. With God, nothing happens by accident, and Jenkins outlines it beautifully in A Good Work.

Mindfulness
July 2024
Life is moving at a fast pace. And technology seems to be taking up more intimate space in our lives. I remember when I first heard those automated recordings on the other end of the phone instead of a live person, and how upsetting it was for me. That has become a norm. Technology will continue to take over jobs. And it seems artificial intelligence will take the place of real relationships. If we are not mindful of what we are doing, mankind could become nonessential in a world God gave us authority to rule.
When we are mindful, we tend to think things through. We look at the possibilities and how they might affect not only us but those around us. When we are not mindful of the decisions we make, outcomes can be devastating. I encourage you to pray about everything in life. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. When we do not have clarity on which way to go, we have One who knows everything. And He will guide us if we ask Him. As life continues on the fast track, do not get caught up in the things of the world. We must continue to renew our minds, and stay steadfast for the Kingdom of God.
Blessings,
Jackie
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
